  1. I think Harriet Tubman chose to risk her life for other slaves was because she thought that it was unfair to treat "different" people in a bad way, people should be free with no owner, they should have the same balanced rights as others, and not be kept as a slave at a plantation. Working at a slave farm is already a bad situation for them but now the people who escape are being hunted down. Harriet's father is brave for taking the blame for Harriet and getting whipped, but Harriet is braver than her father for taking all the slaves at the plantation to "the promised land." It took her about 3 years to get all the slaves to freedom because each family of slaves took 6 weeks at least to evacuate from the slave farm and, she had to do it at a certain season because her signal was a bird sound so she had to do it at a migrating season so they won't get mixed up. Harriet Tubman overcame her fear of the slave owners in time and managed to save innocent lives that have been put to work for countless years.

  2. I think that Harriet Tubman continuously risked her life to help slaves for many reasons. First of all she wanted to be free and she knew everyone else on the plantation wanted to be free too. I think she was being very brave by doing this and she led a eleven groups of slaves to freedom. She was very friendly and kept motivating the slaves when they were tired.

  3. I believe that she is a woman who is fighting for human rights and being a woman who supports humanitarian rights so greatly is just amazing. She risked her own life, probably even more than those at the UN who are helping countries facing genocide or torture but all they do is sit at a meeting and discuss. I am not saying they do not do any good but Harriet Tubman actually went out there and headed back towards the plantation owner who kept her and risked being caught and killed or face a fate worse than death, becoming a slave again. She risked her life not to be talked about today and be known as famous, she did it to help her fellow slaves and she stood up for what she believed in. Everyone should be free, to have rights, to be their own person. Not a slave who's fate is decided by a mere white man who, last time I checked, isn't God, he doesn't have the right to smite any black man because he has a different shade of skin. The same blood runs through our heart. This is why Harriet Tubman risked her own life. She rather sacrifice herself for the good of the many.

  4. I believe that Harriet Tubman risked her life because she didn't like watching slaves being beaten up by slave owners. I believe that she did the right thing when doing this.

  5. I think that Harriet Tubman continously risked her life to escape the slaves so the slaves wouldn't get hurt also would not get whipped. She escaped eleven groups of slaves to freedom. She was very friendly, nice, and helpful to do this to escape the slaves from getting hurt.

  6. i think Harriet Tubman Risked Her life because she knew that her fellow slaves that were in enslavement were more important than her own life. She used her bravery and knowledge of the underground railroad to help her people.

  7. I think when Harriet Tubman escaped using the Underground Railroad and still wanted to go back and help other slaves escape was because she was free and she had the opportunity to help the other slaves using the Underground Railroad, which she trusted to use. Even when people told her not to go back, she was still motivated to go back and help other slaves to freedom.I think that she is very brave for going back and helping other slaves escape from slavery and also risking her life at the same time. She was very friendly and motivated slaves.

  9. Harriet Tubman is a very heroic woman. She wanted to help slaves escape the south and be free in the north and Pennsylvania. She wanted slaves to be treated equally with everyone else. It is very courageous to change the lives of slaves. She will always be remembered, because she was the motivation for slaves to be free. Being an Underground Railroad conductor, she helped many slaves escape to the north to be free.

  10. Harriet Tubman really made an impact in history because of her kindess and bravery. I think that she continued to help these slaves because she knew how it felt to be treated so badly, because she was a slave at one point in her life. In the story (or the movie) I remember Harriet specifically saying that one day, she wanted all the slaves to know what freedom felt like. She wanted to save as many people as she could, not only herself and her family.

  11. Lilia Tokadzhyan: I think that she continuously risked her life because she said that she is not free if she is not with her family. Many slaves were afraid, but she inspired them to not give up and keep going and she succeeded. She was a very brave woman and she kept motivating the slaves.

  12. Harriet Tubman was one of the biggest contributors on the Underground Railroad. Instead of just talking, she went out and risked her life to help however many slaves she could. To me, her intentions were very clear. Why would she want to be free with no one to enjoy her freedom with? She wasn't free unless her family was free too, and while she was saving her family why not take a few more people on the way? Once she crossed the border to the North she felt a new empowerment and wanted everyone to know that feeling. She was truly committed to her cause.
