Hi Everyone!
This week we discussed the importance of Responsibility and you all wrote wonderful essays explaining what Responsibility means to you. After watching today's video on that topic, please tell me which story you liked best : the story of Icarus, the boy who flew too high; the story of King Alfred; or the story of the old woman and her three children. Also, please discuss which one of the three stories best explained to you the importance of Responsibility. Why did you like that story more than the others?
Have a wonderful weekend!
my favorite story was the one with the old woman and her three children. this to me a sad story, because her own children were visiting her just for the money. :(
ReplyDeletehowever the story that taught me most about responsibility was the story of king Alfred, because it showed that no matter what power or position you are in, even a task so small that is left on your shoulders, you should take responsibility for it.
I thought the story of the old woman and her three children really relates to the way people are today. Everyone relly will do anything for money, but these three children were just cruel to their poor old mom. However, the one that taght me the most was the story of Icarus, because i think if you are a responsible person you would listen to your parents advice, especially when they repeat it over and over.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite story was the story of Icarus, and the boy who flew so high but king alfred was very mean because he was going to pay him and his son gold but the he imprisoned them and then Icarus and the boy made wings from feathers and they flew and they escaped but the boy didn't listen and he flew to high by the sun and the wings were made from wax so when he went by the sun his wings melted and then he fell and didn't listen so he should listen and take the responsibility and always listen to your elders or else you will face consequences.
ReplyDeletePersonally I really enjoyed all three of the stories. My favorite was the one with the three children and the mom because it showed how the children began visiting their frail old mother after they find out that she has treasure. The story of Icarus told me about responsibility with your parents when Icarus didn't listen to his father and he passed away. The story with King Alfred said of how he let the cakes or pies burn and the lady got mad. After the King picked up his mind and defeated the Danes.
ReplyDeletemy favorite story was Icarus, because it teaches people to listen to others who know the consequence for everything and that the only responsibility that Icarus had was not to fly high or low, and he did not listen to his father and paid the consequence of death. I like this story more than others because I've heard it before and the story of responsibility is best described in that particular story.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite story was about Icarus, it was very interesting how they flew with wax feathers. I wish someday i could fly with feathers too!! This story teaches me to listen what others say because there will always be a consequence for your every action, so be careful in life. I like this story more than others because to me it is much more interesting to me and i love storys from ancient times.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite story was the one about Icrus. The reason I liked this story the most is because is explained exactly what responsibility ment. In this story it was Icarus's responsibility to listen to his father and not go close to the water or the sun. But he didn't listen and he flew up very close to the sun that the wax that was keeping the wings together melted and the wins started falling apart, and so Icarus died. The reson this was my favorite story is because I love Ancient Greek Mythology stories with the gods, minatour, and ect...
I liked the story of Icarus more because it shows how the boy was irresponsible and didn't pay attention to his dad. I felt that the dad was also a little at fault for making sure he came down. I liked this story better because i think it reminds kids our age that we must listen to and respect our elder.
ReplyDeleteI liked the story of the old lady and the 3 kids because it shows how the children are ignoring their mom until they found out she has treasure and they try to steal it until the day when their mom dies and they open the chest and find out that their mom said that she made a fake treasure chest just to spend her last days with them and then they find out the truth that they are bad people.
ReplyDeleteThe story I liked the most was the woman and her three children. It was pretty sad because they were only visiting their mom for her money. The story that explained the meaning of responsibility the most was the story of Icarus because his father told him to not get to close to the sun, so it won't melt the wax used to make the wings, but Icarus wasn't responsible enough to listen to his father.
ReplyDeleteI believe that all three stories portrayed the meaning of responsibility but in different ways. The story of Daedalus and Icarus shows that responsibility is important and not having it has many consequences. The story of King Alfred shows that irresponsibility can anger the milk maid but more importantly can cause failure and the loss of trust. The story of the three children and their mother shows that we are our parents' responsibility and soon we will have to repay them and they will be our responsibility. my favorite one of these three was the one of the three children. it explained responsibility but in a more specific and i taught me to honor thy mother and thy father.
ReplyDeleteI liked the story of Icarus because it showed that the son didn't listen to his father and got close to the sun. It showed that Icarus wasn't responsible to listen to his father
ReplyDeleteI liked the story of Daedalus and Icarus because I think out of the three stories its the most that shows the meaning of responsibility. Icarus should've listened to his father and should not have gotten closer to the sun that caused the wax from the feathers to melt.
ReplyDeleteThe story of Icarus showed me the meaning of responsibility the most. Icarus was not being responsible and listening to what his father was saying. Icarus' wax melted from the blazing heat of the sun and he plunged to the bottom of the ocean and died.
