Hello 8th Grade Students!
This week we read several different types of informational texts such as public documents, memos, and consumer documents. Please explain why it is important to read and understand all sorts of texts and written material, and not just fiction. How are these documents an effective way to solve problems affecting an entire community?
To understand every type of informational text is important because it helps in the future to understand what specifics of a consumer or public document covers and how to apply them correctly
ReplyDeleteIt is important to understand all these types of documents because if you choose not to read them you cannot be prepared for things that will happen later like, if you don't read a contract and sign it you will be stuck to do whatever the contract states all because you forgot to read it. These documents can solve problems with communities by lets say if someone in the community wants to have updates on what is going on in the public to be safe and alert, they would want a newsletter. I found a newsletter that my community sends to all the homeowners that gives people weekly updates on what there is, the current news is the porter ranch robbers, they go around and rob people basically and know our community gives us updates on how they look, and what they drive. this would be an example of a newsletter. I think what a consumer document might be is a document or paperwork given to buyers, users or the general public to specify agreements, rights and/or responsibilities is what i could say what it is.
ReplyDeleteIt is important to read and understand every type pf document becauase each of them memos, consumer documents, workplace documents, they all have differemt meanings. It is also important because all these have to do with paperwork and if you have to sign contract or agreement you have to know amd make the write choicing to sign it or not.

ReplyDeleteIt is important to read and understand all types of documents because if you dont then in that document or in that contract for example there can be a lot of important things in there that might benefit you or put you in a tight position, so it is very important to read and understand all types of documents.
ReplyDeleteThese documents are affective to solve problems for an entire community because with either a memorandum or any other type of document all of them involve or include information about how to either help or in a way let you know about whats happening or what is going to happen. So these documents are very helping to everyone in many ways.
It is important to read and go over all of the sorts of documents given to you for future references. It is important so you can broaden you knowledge of what is going on in the community and the society. It is important to understand these documents as a result of what is being given to you for you to know what the consequences and the effects of the document.

ReplyDeleteThe reason that we need to read and understand these articles is because these are the articles that we are going to encounter in our life. everything is going to be a "Lemon Brown" or a "Cinderella" story where the protagonist always prevails and evil is forever vanquished. This how life goes on. We read these articles, understand them, sign them, agree to them and that is how we make deals, receive information, understand how our world is changing. This is how we connect to the world around us. With out the memo about the skate park and the article about the views of the citizens, a citizen in the community who might be some what secluded from the talk in the community would never know about these things and could never speak his position on these topics.
ReplyDeletewe have to read and understand these articles is becuase these are the crutial texts that we will encounter in life. not everything will be a fairytale in english lit class. sometimes we have to learn about consumer documents, to understand them as we get older. these documents are used everyday and almost for everything in the adult world.

These documents let us look at new and improved products, let us understand the qualities of these products, when the company is liable for the damages and when you are, etc.
ReplyDeleteI believe that it is very important to read several different types of informational texts such as public documents, memos, and consumer documents and understand them because these are very important in our everyday lives and will actually lead you to somewhere in life. Reading fictional stories is enjoyable but informational texts such as these are what you need to focus on.
